When you wrap your baby in a Wrapsody Baby Carrier, you are wrapping them in a mother’s embrace — designed by a mother for her own babies to high standards. When your baby chews on our carriers or lays her head against the folds of fabric, she is embraced by a product designed with love and attention to safety and quality.
Long before the US Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act was passed, and long before Vesta Garcia began the ASTM process of initiating a voluntary standard for infant slings in 2007, Gypsy Mama has closely attended the safety of our products.
Strength we have tested informally at home, using our wraps as swings, hammocks, and even pulling down our dying crabapple limb by limb. Of course, or products have received almost daily use over most of the years we have been in business.
Before starting work with our Balinese artisans, we first discussed the fabrics and dyes, which are ISO-9001-compliant dyestuff from DyStar. In the same way, when we began manufacturing our WrapDuO (previously the “Water Wrap”) we checked with the fabric manufacturer and learned that the fabrics are Oeko-Tex-100-certified.
There are many laws and regulations governing products in the US, such as labeling laws and flammability laws, as well as the new CPSIA regulations, and we have worked with our attorney and the BCIA to ensure complete compliance with these regulations.
Additionally, we are working toward voluntary certification through ASTM International well before the standard becomes mandatory.
The safety of your children is our number one priority, always, at Gypsy Mama, which is why we have created a product that allows you to supervise your small baby closely at all times of the day, whether you are pouring yourself a glass of water or walking through a store. Because we know how precious your baby is.
