Favorite Wrapsody Colorway: Brishen
Shannon lives with her husband Jim, son Griffin, and big goofy dog Lucy outside Baltimore, MD. They love books, music, and art and are lucky to have their families close by. She works on websites for a global public health project and is fortunate to be able to frequently work from home. Shannon’s hobbies include yoga, cooking, cross-stitch, and geeking out over miscellaneous sci-fi fandoms. Her family is vegan and committed to animal rights and living as gently as possible. One of their favorite places to visit is Poplar Spring Animal Sanctuary, where Griffin can spend time with his animal friends. Shannon also co-mods an anti-racist/social justice discussion group for parents on Facebook.
Shannon and Jim welcomed Griffin into their lives via open adoption when he was 5 days old. They consider his first family to be part of their extended family and do their best to make sure that Griffin knows just how many people have loved him since before he was even born. Shannon first wore Griffin in a secondhand Moby when he was a newborn, and it was an amazing bonding experience. Wrapsody Hope Breeze was her very first Wrapsody wrap, and it’s still a favorite.
Wearing Griffin is calming for them both and she can never get enough of his snuggles. Babywearing has helped Shannon become a more relaxed and confident parent, and she wants other parents to know that it doesn’t have to be difficult or expensive, you don’t need a massive carrier stash, you don’t have to do attachment parenting, and you can do it a little or a lot and both you and your child will still benefit.
She’s a bit of a freak for pretty things and nice fabrics, so she loves braiding and cuddling wraps almost as much as using them to carry her son! She can’t buy all the wraps she’d like to, so she scratches that itch by indulging in head wraps and furoshikis in her favorite colorways instead.
